Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler: Summer's Best Camp Dessert
If you make one new thing at camp this summer, make this.
Full disclosure- I'm not a Peach guy- BUT I've had this at camp and was amazed! Pour two cans of sliced peaches (juice and all) into your Dutch oven. Sprinkle one box of yellow cake mix evenly over the top — don't stir it. Slice half a stick of cold butter into pats and lay them across the top of the cake mix. Put the lid on and cook over medium coals for 35-40 minutes — a ring of coals underneath and a full layer of coals on the lid for even heat. It's done when the top is golden and set and the edges are bubbling.
Serve it straight from the Dutch oven. If you've got vanilla ice cream in the cooler, now is the time.
Three ingredients. Zero skill required. Every single person at camp will ask for the recipe.
