The Oakbone Ridgeguard™ Norse Seax Knife combines an extended 14.5-inch 1040 carbon-steel blade with a walnut and natural bone handle, brass fittings, and a hand-sewn leather scabbard.

At approximately 22 inches overall, this historically inspired fixed-blade knife has substantial proportions and a distinctive broken-back blade profile. The natural walnut and bone handle materials give each piece its own grain, tone, and visual character.

Each knife is individually hand-finished. Variations in the walnut grain, bone tone, leather color, and blade finish are natural and expected.

Broken-Back Carbon-Steel Blade

The Oakbone Ridgeguard™ features an approximately 14.5-inch blade made from 1040 carbon steel. The blade is approximately 1.5 inches wide and has a specified hardness of approximately 58–60 HRC.

Its broken-back profile creates an angular change in the spine near the point, giving the knife a different silhouette from a straight-back design.

Walnut and Natural Bone Handle

The handle combines natural walnut wood with natural bone, separated and complemented by brass accents and double bolsters.

Walnut brings warm grain and dark color variation, while natural bone adds a lighter contrast. Because both are natural materials, no two handles will look exactly identical.

The wood components are finished with a beeswax and linseed-oil blend to support the natural appearance of the walnut.

Hand-Sewn Leather Scabbard

A hand-sewn leather scabbard is included with the Oakbone Ridgeguard™ Norse Seax Knife.

Always make sure the carbon-steel blade is clean and completely dry before placing it inside leather. Leather can retain moisture, so the knife should not be stored damp inside the scabbard for extended periods.
